ED Club

Entrepreneurship development Clubs are set up by the Department of Industries & Commerce, mainly with the objective of promoting entrepreneurial traits among students in schools and colleges. Club tries to build a culture of self independence through entrepreneurship. ED Clubs provide a platform for realizing business opportunities by arranging industrial visits, business awareness classes, practical sessions on skill development training, interaction with entrepreneurs etc.

In MES Ponnani College ED Club registered and started 2008. The registered number is EDP/07/2008/MLPM


Objectives

  • To inculcate social virtues i.e., trustworthiness, integrity, hard work, discipline, honesty etc as constituents of entrepreneurship.
  •  To sensitize students on the real economic and industrial development scenario of the state.
  •  To inculcate entrepreneurial culture in students.
  • To change the mind set on the negative attitude prevailing in the state for taking up entrepreneurship as a career. 
  • To induct entrepreneurial spirit in the institutions To bring in successful entrepreneur and students on a common platform.
  • To motivate the members to venture into the industrial activity.
  • To educate members on various dimensions of industry
  •  To nurture the latent entrepreneurial talent.

Collaborations
ED Club is organizing various programmes joining hands with KIED (Kerala Institute of Entrepreneurship Development), DIC (District Industries Centre ) and KITCO

Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme
09/12/2019

On  9th December 2019 held the inaugural function of  WEDP at 1.30 pm, Conference hall. In this function welcome speech delivered by Smt.Muneera K  coordinator ED Club. Principal Captain M N Muhammed Koya presided over the function. Mr Muhammed Rasheed, Secretary MES Ponnani College inaugurated the function. Keynote address delivered by Sri  Dileep Kumar K ed trainer, Kitco cochin. Observance of World Entrepreneurship Day

As a part Observance of world entrepreneurship day ED club in association with PG Department of Commerce organised an entrepreneurship awareness class on  21 August  2019 at MSK Hall in MES Ponnani College. Smt Siji Verghese (HOD, Department of Commerce) delivered the welcome speech,. Dr Zubair A A (Principal in charge, MES Ponnani College) presided over the function. This Programme inaugurated and topic presented by Smt Smitha P( Assistant District Industries Officer, Ponnani).  Felicitation was given by Dr Sina  A R( Secretary staff club) .Vote of thanks given by Shalalas PM, executive member of ED club. This programme became a grant success.

Project Presentation at IDEA FAIR

Ed members Shahul Hameed, Sharoof T K(2nd Bcom) , Saranya T V  &Muhammed Shibli(3rd B com) along with Rafeeque M T(Assistant Professor Dpt of commerce) participated and presented the project in the programme named” IDEA FAIR” organised by Malabar Chamber of Commerce, Malappuram at Eranad Knowledge City, Manjeri.         Around 25 college ED members participated in that program. They got a good experience in presenting that project.
