The Department of PG studies and Research in Physics of MES Ponnani College is one of the leading centres for higher studies in Physics in Kerala with all of its faculties involved in state-of-the-art teaching methodologies, active research programmes and collaborative enterprises within and outside the country. The department has been offering UG programme in Physics for the last forty years and PG programme for the last thirty years or so. Recently, the department has been upgraded with a Research centre where active research is underway in the areas of materials science and nanotechnology. Six  recognized research guides are supervising the entire research activities.  The department has been playing its indomitable role in the higher education scenario of the region by maintaining excellent academic standards with well set goals.
